Is April Too Soon?

Of course- none of us know- and we all hope not-, but I, for one, am not so sure. Yes, I have my MM ticket for April 14- and also bought two for June- and am hopeful that I will want to get on a plane and fly to NYC from Atlanta. But, with the virus out of control- vaccines a maybe- and when they do arrive- the testing- the amount of coverage, the side affects- all need to be monitored. Anyway, although I am hopeful- I do not count out the possibility that this will go on and on...like that Titanic song.

There is literally no way of knowing right now.

To explain a bit further, at that time, Jordan's elaborate fortune teller's costume will be complete and he will possess remarkable powers. Is April Too Soon?

All kidding aside, I do think that by November we will have a better sense of where the unknowable things stand to the extent that they are starting to resolve, and we will also have any announced shows that think they can move forward needing to make some concrete production schedule decisions (not to mention expenditures) in earnest.

I’m going as a sexy hooker fortune teller for Halloween so the crystal balls won’t be the only ones getting touched that night.

Is April too soon is your original question, right? I'd say yes. The idea that Broadway is suddenly announcing it is re-up now is a bit silly to me. It's for a profit. They're looking to take your $ again, and if things are pushed back, everyone will wonder once again when they'll get their refund. It's absurd, but not at all unexpected. I'm as hopeful as the next for things to return to the usual, but this is just painful to watch as I know so many are eager enough to spend money on hope. Is April Too Soon?

Or you could just let them hope? Hope is fairly hard to come by right now. I don't get the sense that any of this is set in stone and people were refunded before they can easily be refunded again.

I literally don't have the power to stop anyone from doing anything, nor is it my place/business/interest to, so I can't stop anyone from hoping. So, by all means, hope away. Doesn't stop me from thinking it's a bit depressing, though.

I heard from cast member of "Wicked" that they are being told they would not open until September 2021.

That’s an oddly specific odd date.

Way too early to tell, however the surge in Florida and other states that rushed to open do not bode well, where they put wealth before health and didn’t listen to the science (Dr Anthony Fauci.) Donald Trump and his state governor rushed to re-open, to have any chance of winning in November. Now looks like it is coming back to bite and all the good work done in April/May looks like it has been undone and going back to square one.

So impossible to tell.

No way that is coming with any sort of inside knowledge or definiteness. Sounds like someone within the Wicked organization is speculating.

There was another similar post a while back (suggesting much the opposite, and already proven false). The bottom line is that information of this sort, even if it existed (and it doesn't), would never be shared with a cast member. What happens is basically the telephone game.

I think it's 50-50 at this point. We'll have a better sense of where we are vaccine and treatment-wise soon after we find out whether or not Trump will serve another term.

American scientists are hardly the only people on earth racing to develop a vaccine.

Personally, I am hoping the vaccine comes from a non-USA company's that the idiot in the White House can't start taking credit for it.  Of course, it was pointed out to me by a friend that our stock is so low across the planet right now that we may not be high on the list to get the vaccine when it is ready.  I have to admit that I have no idea how the manufacturing process works.  I would assume that manufacture will be made available at the same time to companies all over the planet
