I loved Kat in Waitress and was trying to think what she could step into next.
My first thought was Moulin Rouge, she's proved on more than one account she can dance and the music is right in her wheel house. Plus, I'd love to see more of the vulnerable side of Kat we go to see in SUTBM.

Don't ever listen to someone when they declare someone "canceled". Cancel culture is dangerous and toxic. These are the same kinds of people that are "stans" of shows who stalk, harass, and verbally abuse people in a show (Beetlejuice) or an incoming show (The Music Man) if they don't get their way.
Personally, I would love her to get a chance to star in a brand new show. She was really good in "Waitress" and the reviews I read of her performances in London were very good.
I have never heard one bad word about her from her co-workers, she seems to be very nice and well liked. She did get caught kissing a married man in public years ago but nobody is perfect. It is rare that I feel any sympathy for celebrities but I do in today's world. You have to be so darn careful of every word you say because lots of people appear to ready to destroy your life/career.
Wasn’t she sort of involved in that Betty Boop musical? I know it’s been an on and off project for literally years now but perhaps if that ever made it to Broadway then she would be a candidate for the title role?

J&H: She'd act it well and look beautiful in the role, but I have doubts that she could sing it as full-throated as warranted. So many female belters have gone into that show and failed miserably.
I believe she needs a vehicle that shows off that she can move.

Good points. I saw Linda Eder in J&H and it is hard for anybody to top her in that role vocally -lol. I thought McPhee showed in SMASH that she was a pretty decent dancer.

Agree. Say what you want about the GOP (personally I swing far-left/liberal anyways so for me this is a huge nono) but I think respecting people's rights to support, financially or otherwise, the political party of their choice is a fraction of what makes our democracy work. I've never met Katharine and based on this I'm sure we'd disagree on a lot, but that won't ever change the fact that I think she's a wonderful performer and I have nothing but respect and admiration for her artistry. Quite frankly this changes nothing for me.
Yeah, but supporting a fascist government isn't exactly a defensible position. Money that goes towards the GOP is money going towards the re-election of a man who will strip rights from women, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, and a whole host of other minorities within this country. He is going to undermine our constitution and drive us further into the hell we've entered. Hundreds of thousands are dead because of him and her money is going to ensure more take the same fate. So yeah, I think that her support of the GOP is pretty despicable.

Agree 100%. Her contributions made to the RNC in 2008 are somewhat easier to accept -- but for her to continue to support that party in 2020 is reprehensible. Her new husband, multi-millionaire music producer David Foster is also a full blown MAGAT --- he was originally set to perform at tRump's 2016 inauguration, but bowed out due to public backlash. However since then he has performed at numerous private tRump fundraisers. Disgusting.
Oh come on. There are a lot of completely valid reasons a person could have for supporting the Republican party in spite of their stance on social issues. To demonize her because of which candidates she supports, and to assume that she embraces all of those candidates' views, is just patently absurd.
