Just watched her panel discussion with Peter Gelb (available for streaming today as well) and they mentioned they are working on another opera which Kelli will be in - but they didn't reveal what it is.
Was at the prima with Keli in the cast. It’s an entertaining production that tries very hard. Not near my favorite Cosi, but a nice introduction to this beautiful opera for those who haven’t experienced it before.
I saw this production at the cinema and found the opera to be an odd choice in light of the "Me,Too" movement. All the cleverness of the staging and the scenic design couldn't mask the cuelness of the joke that the two men make and the grief the women experience as a result of it.
Kelli sang beautifully, as did the rest of the cast but I questioned the Met's decision to perform this opera at this time. It contradicts their efforts to make their productions politically correct.
Have you seen their current CARMEN, where Carmen looks more like more like a housewife than the smoldering sexpot that Bizet envisioned? Their current MADAMA BUTTRRFLY is a stunning production but there is no Asian makeup worn. It looks like a bunch of caucasian people wearing beautiful Japanese costumes. And please don't get me started on OTELLO without blackface.

I will now get off my soapbox. Thank you."
They plan productions years in advance so delaying it was probably not an option.
In Europe they change their schedules a week ahead of time. I had a ticket for the Vienna State Opera's production of LA TRAVIATA but they changed it to DON GIOVANNI only week earlier.
Kelli sounded remarkable and brought some great acting to the met stage! Brava!!!!! I hope more “Broadway Singers” of the next generation will endeavor to sing opera as well.
