How long do you think BWAY will be closed? I know that April 13 is supposed to be the date that shows will again be performing- but this seems to be unlikely to me.

It hasn't been a week yet...expect at least 12-16 more weeks-late June???... I'd say but we just don't know yet.
NYC had 525 new cases overnight bringing the total
Coronavirus Cases in N.Y.C. Near 2,000 as Testing Expands: 2382 in NY State
Midway through a grim week, the virus continued to spread quickly.
Hopefully Memorial Day, but that feels like a pipe dream. We’re getting prepared to hear that schools may be closed for in person learning for the remainder of the year. That’s 12 weeks. Where I live, we’ve gone from 2 cases to over 100 in a week. It’s scary.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

Yo...I was finally able to understand the Imperial College report from a broad perspective....that report doesn't show anything pretty. Anything.
I'll have got muster up the mind and guts to go though it again and get more details out of it, but it gives a few scenarios. NONE of which is a winner. Our leaders didn't do near enough, near enough in time either. And people still are out and about like nothing is wrong. I think we all know that it'll be longer than April 12, but the end of 2020 doesn't sound far off the mark anymore...
I think the only thing that could shorten it from being much longer than anyone wants is they are able to figure out some type of antiviral medicine (not vaccine) that can mitigate symptoms pretty effectively. My hope is with everyone working on things like that, it'll come sooner than we hope.

DEAR HEAVENS, I HOPE SO...but sadly it can still be passed, but at least society could function I suppose. Do you have sources for the work being done on this? Not that I want to go down another rabbit hole, but I need a semblance of hope right now too...

I don't have any concrete sources aside from various tweets and articles over the past couple weeks about different drug companies around the globe working on things. Some are claiming some effectiveness (I remember reading about Cuba and Japan both saying they are having some success) but nothing groundbreaking yet. I just think that's the quickest route at this point since all accounts seem to think a vaccine is 12-18 months away.
Well I know the CDC said something about no gatherings of over 50 people for 8 weeks so based on that we’re looking at mid-May at the earliest. But no official Broadway update/announcement again so far... Anyway I’m really hoping that by May or so this all gets improved enough that shows can open back up...

If it's May, it will be of 2021.

A leaked report from Dump's advisors says this could last up to 18 months so....
The endless daily threads of "when" "how looooong" equate to children in the back of a car screaming "are we there yet"?. This is awful for all of us, nobody wants to just stay home for months. It's uncomfortable and it sucks, but that is just our new reality.
I got an email today that a West End show in that I was supposed to see in a couple weeks was postponed until May and that a celeb convention that was supposed to happen next month is now happening in June, both of which I’m like...HUH.
I have another trip to London already planned for June and have a bunch of tickets for shows (just like I had this month) and I’m under no illusion those shows will actually happen but I’m going to plan the trip and focus on the possibility of it, while I’m stuck here at home because it’s something concrete to look forward to and I think we could all use something like that right about now.

All due respect (for real), but while we definitely need things to look forward to, I think we all might need to change the parameters of what that means for the immediate future. For example, I spent a few hours this weekend rescheduling 3 or 4 of the (dozen or so) shows I had planned for the next month... before I finally realized that not only was there a good chance that those shows might not yet be back up and running in time for my new dates in late April-early May, but that (since so many of them are limited engagements only scheduled to run from March through June or so), there was a better-than-decent chance they might just never reopen at all. (Or at least not in time for this spring/summer/season.)
I hate to say it, but I do agree with the posters above that we need to recalibrate our thinking re: shows being ready to see by -next- May, not this one. And then, if theatre reopens and life as we know it resumes by this Halloween, or midsummer, or even Labor Day, it’ll seem like a happy surprise. But to schedule and plan things at this point for only 2 months from now feels just as foolish as buying tickets for The Lehman Trilogy or The Minutes for 2 months from now - likely as not it’ll be time wasted, and all the checking your watch and looking at the calendar between now and then as dates inevitably get pushed back will just feel like (forgive the colloquial phrase) Chinese water torture. I hope I’m wrong. But while navigating our lives at a standstill, I’d say better to prepare for the worst and then possibly (hopefully) be pleasantly surprised, than to plan for best-case scenarios and more than likely be disappointed again.
Well, I already have the tickets and everything reserved so - with all due respect - I already said I’m under no illusion the trip will happen, but while I’m stuck at home, and until I get the email that they’re canceled it’s something to look forward to. So - with all due respect - let people just have their silly fantasies right now. Doesn’t hurt you at all.

Fair enough. And I really do hope ALL our silly fantasies come to pass!... yours, mine, and everyone else who’s been planning for or looking forward to anything at all in this crazy time.

That's basically what I am doing for my vacation that's happening in August. I will continue to look forward to it, but will understand if it doesn't end up happening. Actually, seeing all the people down in Miami not caring about anyone but their fun, I will be shocked if I still end up going.
