Just got this from Baltimore’s Hippodrome:

Dear David,

Governor Larry Hogan has issued an order to cancel or postpone gatherings of 250 persons or more until further notice.

As a result, the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center, home of the Hippodrome Theatre, will postpone all performances for the following events following this order:

- Celtic Woman Celebration - The 15th Anniversary Tour. (Mar 14, 2020)

- The Band’s Visit  (Mar 17 - 22, 2020)

IF YOU ARE A TICKET HOLDER FOR ONE OF THESE EVENTS, PLEASE HOLD ONTO YOUR TICKETS AS WE WORK TO RESCHEDULE THEIR PERFORMANCES IN BALTIMORE.

We will be in touch in the next 7-14 days with more information on the status of these events. We appreciate the leadership of our public officials and will continue to monitor the situation as it evolves to ensure the health and well-being of our audience, staff, cast and crew before anything else. All performances for the remaining shows at the Hippodrome Theatre are expected to go on as scheduled. Should anything change, we will send an update to all impacted ticket holders. We look forward to welcoming you back into a clean and safe gathering space for our community to enjoy the shared experience of seeing stories unfold live on stage. Thank you for your patience and your continued support.

Sincerely,

Ron Legler

President Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performance Arts Center

We, (Jacksonville) have Hamilton for the first time starting Tuesday.  Our Broadway series seasons have been spotty, at best, for making a profit.  I think if they had to give out refunds for all the Hamilton tickets, this could be financially devastating for them.  Unless the Corporate sponsors bail them out, we could easily not have a 2021 season.

Broadway in Columbus posted something very similar about the rest of the My Fair Lady run - that they are hoping to reschedule it. Ohio has banned gatherings over 100 people. Cincinnati's next show isn't until mid-April (Escape to Margaritaville), so time will tell on that one

The Mayor of Providence, RI has limited all entertainment venues to less than 100 people for at least the next two weeks. The Providence Performing Arts Center is cancelling events right now (Blue Man Group, concerts, etc). The next show in our Broadway series is Jesus Christ Superstar the first week of April; if the ban isn't lifted they'll have to cancel.

The remainder of Hello Dolly in Buffalo has been cancelled. The show was to end the tour in Rochester next week, which obviously will also be cancelled. So sad for everyone involved and for those whose tickets are cancelled. It was a great show

Besides Be More Chill being postponed, there hasn’t been any major cancellations in Chicago.

Yes, I believe Pritzker just recently mandated theatres and other performing venues close until May. I’m currently at the School Girls play at the Goodman and the mood is quite low tonight.

Kennedy Center closed until the end of the month.

Still good seats available for Hamilton in August, though...

I had tickets to the final performance and I’m heartbroken. I’m happy we are taking precautions and I knew it was coming but this is my favorite production of the decade and I’ve seen every other Dolly but Carolee. Just sucks. I even had a front row seat. Also, Rochester is officially canceled.

Aladdin's 1st National just opened last night at Bass Concert Hall in Austin on the UT Austin campus, which announced closing yesterday. As a result, the rest of Aladdin's run has been cancelled and Bass Concert Hall will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

Our other major Austin venue, The Long Center for the Performing Arts, which just hosted The Illusionists this week is set to remain open until a decision is made later this week but there aren't any major tours coming through until Riverdance later this June.

For tours, it seems as though they're leaving it up to the venues to make that call.

I just got an email from Pittsburgh Public Theater that their entire run of American Son has been cancelled.  It was scheduled to open tomorrow and run through April 5th.

Ahhh, man, that does really suck. I'm sorry to hear that.

Maybe Carolee will reprise her role as Dolly in a different production in the future,i know it  won't exactly be the same, but a consolation prize.

They have "postponed" pretty much everything concerts, sports etc in Jacksonville, until April, but Hamilton is still scheduled to go on starting Tuesday.

I’m sure we’ll hear official word soon, but I’m curious if these postponements are really cancellations. I’ve been so pumped for the My Fair Lady tour and even though broadway in Chicago will probably say it’s postponed, I can’t see the tour making its way back to Chicago. Unfortunate.

I saw this site on another message board yesterday which sort if explains the theory behind all these closures:
https://www.flattenthecurve.com/

British Columbia hasn't yet been hit as hard as Washington State to the south if us. But, today our provincial health officer asked for the the cancellation of all events over 250 individuals. The more surprising thing for most people, though I had a premonition it might come, is that anyone who travels anywhere - including the US - is being asked to quarantine themselves for 14 days upon their return starting today. A lot of people who live close to the border will often cross the border to pick up groceries. The health minister even made a comment on the televised press conference telling people not to go to Washington to buy milk. (Not because the milk is suspect, but due to possible contact with infected individuals in Washington State)

I had plans to go down next weekend to see Sister Act in Seattle which are now cancelled.

I hope things calm down by May when I have a holiday planned in California with plans to see Hamilton, Sunday in the Park With George,  & Lempicka among other things.
