Im directing a production of Evita. Ive loved the show for many many many years and it is my dream to direct this show. Theres one question that I have never been able to find the answer to; WHAT is the film that is heard in the show before its halted to announce Eva Perns death?

I’m sure it’s La Prodiga.

If it's not specified in the script, you can probably choose whatever film you want.

In the OBC the movie is The Circus Cavalcade (which was made seven years before Evita's death), but the score you hear with the dialogue is by ALW, it's not the actual soundtrack of the film

Evita Question#5

Huh, I always assumed it was made for the show. It never occurred to me that it might be a real film (honestly, because the acting was so over-the-top, lol), and that Eva herself was in it. But of course that makes sense. Thanks for the info!

P.S. I should point out I've done the show several times but never seen it, only heard it from the pit! laugh
