Hi all. I've hit a bit of a rut trying to find an audition monologue for a local company putting on A Midsummer Night's Dream. They've rendered Puck's character with no gender, and I absolutely adore Puck, so I've decided to go that route!
I'm stumped though. They want a 1-minute long Shakespeare monologue to audition with. That in itself is no problem. I was originally thinking of one of Ariel's soliloquies from The Tempest (the Act 1, Scene 2 "I boarded the king's ship; now on the beak" ). I'm not so sure on that selection, which is making me nervous. I would prefer something comedic with at least 1 emotional shift. Any suggestions??
Side note: if you think that Ariel's soliloquy would do just fine, that's also a helpful comment!
