If you're looking for something to do Saturday night, Tony Yazbeck and Laura Osnes will be performing their song and dance show "Things Are Looking Up" in Port Washington, Long Island at the Landmark on Main Street Theater.at 8:00. They have already performed this act I think eight times at a sold-out 54 Below. Now they will have a real stage to dance on.

I don't know if they would agree, but when I bought some old Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers films to watch with my Mom during her declining years I grew quite fond of them. Or at least of the elaborate dance routines done to the music of Gershwin, Kern, Irving Berlin and Rodgers and Hart. This act uses a lot of the classic tunes of George Gershwin used in the film "Shall We Dance."

You don't get many chances to see two talented triple-threats singing and dancing to classic show tunes. Tony is probably the king of tap on Broadway and who knew that Laura could keep up with him.

This show hasn't been publicized too well and there are still good seats available from $59-$79 in this intimate 250 seat theater. Port Washington is tucked up in the northwest corner of Nassau County, only about 20 minutes from the Queens border. You could also take the LIRR to the Port Washington station and you are there.

Tony is also doing his solo act at 54 Below next Tuesday and Wednesday and it looks like those shows will sell out. Last chance to see him before he begins work on the new LCT production Flying Over Sunset in which he portrays Cary Grant ... well you probably know already.

I grew up in Mineola NY, too bad I don't live there now it would be so close to see this wonderful show.
