The 2020 Australian Open may be canceled due to the wildfires in the country that is destroying land and killing people and sadly innocent animals. The smoke is so bad that tennis players playing in warm up events are having issues breathing. It is good to see all the tennis players donating money to help with the situation. Example - Serena Williams donated her championship check of $43,000 from winning last week to help. In addition, congrats to "Moulin Rouge" for doing a show and sending the proceeds to Australia to help the very bad situation. here is hoping other shows follow their example !!

I was working a performance of Come From Away, after the curtain call two of the actress came out and not only did they mention the fires, they said that the producers are donating for a few performances (they didn't say how many) ten dollars from every ticket sold. Being that we are a constant sell out that is a good chunk of change to donate.

That is awesome, so glad to hear that they are helping out. I loved "Come From Away" when I saw it on Broadway a couple of years ago. BTW - I think I told you years ago my wife had Islander season tickets in the early 1980's before we got married. Let's Go Islanders !!

Day One of the tournament went fine without any issues. It rained a bunch and hopefully this might help the situation, plus it was not very hot for a summer day in Australia.
