On Saturday, 1/4/2020, Adrienne did act 1 and her alternate, Nkeki, came out for act 2 after an extended intermission. Tonight, 1/7/2020, Nkeki was performing and the show was stopped in the middle of act 1 and Kayla came on. Does anyone know what happened to Nkeki? Per a tweet, she left by ambulance. I am aware Nkeki usually does matinees.
Warren's out with an ankle injury and now Nkeki is out, too? Nkeki typically does Wed & Sat matinees. If Kayla is their only available actress to play Tina, the producers must be sh!tting themselves right now.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
The performance schedule has been a bit whack the past week or two. With the holidays, different performers have been have been off and on.
When I stopped by Sunday to consider buying a ticket for that show, they told me Adrienne was out and would be out for a bit and that Keki would be on that day through at least Thursday (website confirmed this) - part of it being due to Adrienne’s ankle injury.
With Keki not being able to go on, this must be one hell of a conundrum

I guess Kayla is going on until further notice. Let's hope she stays healthy and doesn't get sick or injured this week.

Can anyone confirm if Kayla is doing both shows today?

I have no interest in this show but if I did, how could you purchase tickets to it if 9 times out of 10 the lead was out? Same over at WSS according to this chat line.
Didn’t happen with Merman, Midler, Murphy, Peters (in Dolly anyway), Lansbury, LuPone (at least my experience).

Well, the role of Tina is very taxing physically. It's a two hour extreme workout on top of the singing. When I saw Warren in previews, I thought that she was one of the most hard working actresses I've ever seen on stage. She was carrying that show on her shoulders. I'm surprised it's her first serious injury in that show that forced her to take a leave.

Tina is a different beast, but her resumé (Dreamgirls, Shuffle Along, Bring It On) is quite dance heavy.

9 times out of 10 the lead was out? Where is that number coming from? Warren injured her ankle on Saturday and is out temporarily. Otherwise, yes, she has an alternate (announced), but she's been doing this show for over a year when you include London, and there are no reports of sustained absences. And truly, this is one of the most demanding physical and vocal roles I've seen performed.
Warren can't be compared to others including historic actresses. She was injured. She has no history of poor attendance. She's an athletic actress who was injured. This isn't about "the show must go on." This isn't a stiff hip or a sore knee. Those are the things conscientious, trained and disciplined actors learn to work with. Warren could do that. This is a whole other matter. I think we are in Christina Applegate Sweet Charity territory. Applegate, by the way, is another athletic actress who worked her ass off, and was gutted when she injured.

I listened to an interview with Applegate on NPR where she talked about coming back to the show before she was completely heeled, possibly because she felt pressure to do so. She seemed to indicate she still suffers some adverse health consequences from returning before she was ready.
For the record, if you read my review, the understudy was the least problematic part of the show. There are, in my opinion, many other reasons to give this a hard pass.
She actually sprained her ankle weeks ago and was back in the show with an ankle brace two shows later. I happened to catch the show in which she returned and remember being so nervous for her—I felt it was entirely too soon. Pretty sure she aggravated her injury by doing so. I saw on social media how the company was hailing her work ethic as one of kind because she didn’t allow the injury to stop her.
Warren is scheduled to be back on Friday. Kayla is going on tonight. No word if Nkeki will be back for the Saturday matinee or if Kayla is doing it.

Does anyone know what happened to Nkeki? Per a tweet, she was taken out of the show by ambulance. I hope she’s okay, she’s a brilliant Tina.

You'd just go to Ticketmaster or Telecharge, select your tickets, and sit in your seats. You just wouldn't see the lead? Both shows have had injuries, so not a case of people just deciding to stay home and watch Netflix.

I guess Nkeki is okay then. There's been no word on what happened to her during Tuesday's show.

I was blown away by Nkeki last night. Her voice is incredible and you'd never know she had had any type of medical issue earlier in the week. I also met her at the stagedoor and she was lovely.
Interestingly, Kayla was out. So I was wondering what would happen if something had happened to Nkeki. Fortunately, we didn't have to find out. We had understudies on for Tina and Ike. And there were 4/5 swings in the show.
Kayla was probably out for rest. She did both shows on Wednesday as Tina.
