Pantages Auto Renew Question

I logged into TM subscriber site to d/l my Frozen tickets for next week and saw I have an invoice for $100 for the privilege of Auto-Renewal?

Does anyone with a Nederlander subscription know what this option actually does beyond give them $100 to earn interest in their bank account instead of mine?  While odds are very high I will renew, they haven't announced any of the shows yet.  If I'm missing out on something I'd log in an pay it, but from what I can tell, I can log in and pay it now for $100 and then they will renew me later with the credit of the $100, or I can just wait until they announce the season, and then do the same amount of work logging in paying for it.  I don't see any benefit for me.

Since I know the San Diego office processes renewals for San Diego, Hollywood, and San Jose (and I assume San Francisco,) someone must know what the $100 gets you.

According to the Pantages website and the subscriber email I received, paying the $100 for auto-renew gives you priority for seating upgrades. I don’t think there’s any other advantage. But it’s refundable within a month so you can cancel if you don’t like the season when it’s announced, and if you renew it’s credited towards your payment. So no real downside that I can see.
