Any ideas of what shows he is hunting at? Obviously the whale is "Moby Dick," the 8-ball is "Octet" I think, but any speculation on the rest? Someone in the replies mentioned "Blue Wizard," curious if there is any news about that? Or the other projects. Even that nee album seems intriguing.

I thought I read somewhere that he and Chavkin were doing Black Swan as a musical. 

Perhaps that's what the black square is?

He said at the Preludes Q&A in London that he had been 'commissioned' to write 2 musicals for other people, I took it that would be one of them.

Even when I know the answers to Dave Malloy's tweets about ongoing work, I'm still confused. My assemption is that Moby Dick turns up in New York City either in the fall or in spring 2021. It depends on how much reworking he and Rachel Chavkin plan to do. Is Octet going to start showing up in small theaters around the country? I give up on everything else.
