I found this article on-line, which covers the status of many Broadway musicals headed to Hollywood for the 'silver screen'.  Some of the titles are familiar, some were very new to me - this may be of interest to many here who are keeping score.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical's film adaptation has been in development since 2015

Why is the list in alphabetical order? It would have made a lot more sense for the order they are coming out in or, for the ones with no date yet, when they are expected to come out.

Probably because so many of them dont have release dates.

The Oliver looks a bit distressing, since the all-black Annie was such a fiasco. And how often have we heard development stories about Sunset and Wicked? Some of these, I'll believe them when I see them.

The OLIVER! project does sound odd, at best. Maybe the plan is indeed to send it to Disney+ with no theatrical release ?

I also noticed 'Drowsy Chaperone' is no where on the list. Five years ago, this was talked about with Streisand , Jackman, and Anne Hathaway all lined up as 'interested'. And then....?

So many inaccuracies in that list.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I get that, but to me that is ridiculous. Playbill has a similar list but for shows coming to Broadway. They have it listed as the ones that definitely are coming and then for projects that have little information, an "in development" section. It is not up to date by any means, but I feel like that works. There is no reason to have Cats, a movie coming out next week, next to Come From Away, which has no news about it at all. I guess having it in release order (or at least a speculated release order for those that have little information) seems be more useful, but that might just be me.
