Closer and closer.   The President of the United States is accused of misconduct and obstruction.

Yes he’ll be impeached but there’s no way he’ll be removed.

And he may make history as being the first president to be impeached and get re-elected. We know he won’t be removed from office with the republican senate majority.
Hope not but it’s very possible (unless Biden does an outstanding job swaying a lot of those that are unsure).

Moscow Mitch might not have an option

I’m not sure what you mean. Mitch already said a trial is going to happen but U still need the majority of the Senate to have Trump removed. Most republicans in the senate seem to have already decided against removal. If 2/3 senate vote to NOT remove Trump, Mitch has no power to change that.

IMHO I feel Mitch McConnell has done more damage to this country than Trump. He is quoted as having his life’s work to place conservative judges on the Supreme Court as well as many other federal judges and he has, for the most part, succeeded. It’s long-lasting damage to our country. He has GOT to go (as well as spineless Lindsay Graham from my current state of residence. )

I know Pelosi just ordered the House to proceed with filing articles of impeachment. But I can't find where they've actually done it or what the articles are. Link?

Nancy Pelosi will participate in a "CNN Town Hall" on Dec 5 (tonight) at 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Oh, and don't mess with Speaker Pelosi!

Today's the day in the House.  No matter the eventual outcome, my pride in my Democratic Party remains as strong today as it was when I first voted (for a Democrat) in 1968.

No matter the Senate outcome, I can not ask for better representation from the House Democrats.  For me, the most memorable moment of this long day occurred at a brief press conference that followed, when Speaker Pelosi said:

"The President is impeached."

Just think of that.

No matter the Senate outcome? Unless you're deeply stupid, you probably understand the Republicans run the Senate and will NEVER vote to impeach him.

He's impeached. That's all. Nothing else has changed nor will it.

You don't need a majority in the Senate to remove him from office. You need a 2/3 supermajority. 67 Senators have to vote to remove. With 53 Republicans in the Senate, even if the two Independents and people like Joe Manchin vote to remove, you still need 20 of the 53 Republican senators to defect and vote him out. Unless Mitch directs them to which let's just say, doesn't appear likely, does anyone see that happening? I would imagine all the Democrats in the House realize impeachment is the best they could do and the Senate will never even hold a fair trial much less convict, but this was always more about making the case to the American public that Trump needs to go and I fear the people who needed to hear that case the most have proven to largely be deaf.

Mitch McConnell is no longer that popular in Kentucky, and has a formidable challenger for his US Senate seat next year in the form of Amy McGrath. And Lindsey Graham's favor-ability in South Carolina has plummeted.  His leading Democratic rival Jamie Harrison now ties him in the polls that matter in SC.  Of the two incumbents, I sense that Moscow Mitch is the more vulnerable.  Please keep an eye on the Senate races!!!

Are you going to start worrying what the third Mrs. Trump is going to wear at the trial?

As she would likely enter the trial room before him, that would give new meaning to the term pearls before swine.

If u read my full response, u will see i mentioned 2/3 vote would be required to remove him from office. Unless there is a huge shift in the a Republicans, that won’t happen and Trump will not be removed from office. Mitch McConnell has little to do with this outcome. Almost all the Republicans have said they would vote no independently.
We will see if impeachment has actually hurt trumps chances for re-election (I doubt it) and if it has angered his supporters even more to lock in their votes for him in 2020.
Re: Lindsay Graham. Not sure where the poster in this thread found the data that his competition is a true threat.

Under a portrait of President George Washington, House Speaker Pelosi just signed the Articles of Impeachment.  They have now been delivered by the House Managers to the Senate, but the actual presentation is tomorrow (January 16).

Historic day.

Vote Blue in 2020.
