I am planning on seeing Chicago soon. I read that being too close isnt that great. Is it better to be more towards the back of the Orchestra or on the front of the Mezzanine? I hardly go to broadway shows so I would be willing to spend more if it will make the show better. But if there is no difference then might as well not spend the money.

I am also 6ft, I heard some seats may not have that much room. Any suggestions?

Thank you

My favorite place to sit is the front of the mezzanine.I can't speak to the legroom, but if you get yourself to the aisle you won't have to worry.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

You should be warned that the current, low budget version of Chicago that plays on Broadway each night is NOTHING like the full scale, colorful film you have seen.  It is a concert version of the show that was moved over after a successful two week run at City Center.

The score is magnificent but you will not see sets or costumes like in the original version - or the grittiness that Fosse intended. There are plenty of clips online that will show you the difference in approach.

If you are looking for a full scale, large, colorful, Broadway musical I would suggest Moulin Rouge, Wicked or Phantom.

I actually love seeing the show from first row orchestra, but then again I've seen it dozens of times so I know where to look. But it's not big theatre so really anywhere is fine, but I like orchestra, just definitely get an aisle if you can. (Front row orchestra is a ton of leg room.)

I think an aisle seat on either left or right orchestra (closer to the center aisle) are the best seats for Chicago for your height. I do agree that front center mezz would be perfect but legroom may be an issue. At least by sitting in the side orchestra aisle seats, no heads will be in front of you and you'll have decent legroom.
