Hi y'all so I usually lurk on these boards and I made this account just to ask this, basically my school is doing "Little Women" the play version for our spring play and I have no idea what to audition with?? I need a monologue that's either serious or comedic and I'm hoping to be Amy. If anyone has ideas, please share! Thanks! :^)

Though the character sings this as a duet, definitely consider “The Most Amazing Thing.”

Do you mean your school is putting on a non-musical version of Little Women? If so, it might be a better idea to audition with a monologue rather than a song.

This is what I was thinking, too.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I honestly don't know, usually our spring show is a straight play, but last year it was Godpsell. Our director just said Little Women and to prepare a monologue but the full audition info hasn't come out yet

I would assume it is a straight play since your director did not tell you to prepare a song but if you want to be fully prepared there is no harm in preparing a monologue and a song just in case it is the musical version you are auditioning for.

Or....just ASK your director for clarification.
