Hi,

I have been assigned a college paper on the play An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. I was wondering if anyone had a link to a PDF version of the play, or if anyone knew where I could find one? I would greatly appreciate any help! Thank you in advance!

Jacobs-Jenkins will soon join the faculty of the University of Texas (Austin) in their MFA playwriting program for the Fall of 2019. In addition, he watched to the MFA playwriting program at Hunter College (CUNY). Feel free to contact him directly at the above institutions. I have always found from my own previous experience that these people, regardless of their celebrity, usually get back to me especially when it is in reference to their work and that you show an appreciation for it.

Amazon has it.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Highly doubtful that the playwright would send a pdf copy of a play that’s published and available for purchase, especially to someone they don’t know.

If you don’t want to buy it, your university library might have it or would definitely be able to arrange an interlibrary loan.

Playwrights make a high proportion of their income from publishing their work. You’d be surprised if you actually saw the numbers, but it’s true. Stealing others’ intellectual property like this is bad for the industry as a whole and does not promote the arts.
