+1 on the Inheritance. I've seen both plays here on Broadway and between the two, I'd pick The Inheritance to watch again. Sure it's not perfect and it has its flaws but some scenes definitely blew me away.

Enjoy part 1 this weekend!

So I saw Part 1 yesterday. For the first 15 minutes or so, I saw "another bunch of bitchy queens" trading zingers. It took me awhile to get into it. I DO agree with many of you that the play tries to be very self-important, and that some scenes are amazing, and the end of Part 1 is wonderful.  The theater was filled with guys like myself "of a certain age" who lived - survived - from the beginnings of the AIDS crisis through today. I DID have to sleep on it, as they say, to really have my emotions elicited. I'm glad I chose to see this, and plan to see Part 2.

See The Inheritance, one of the best plays to ever hit the Broadway stage. I’ve seen both parts and they were phenomenal! Slave Play, on the other hand, was horrendous, and by that, I mean, it was so boring. The sci d part of Slave Play wanders into tedious analysis that I could not follow nor did I care what the characters were talking about. The only good part about Slave Play is that it makes white people think about the long term psychological damage that slavery inflicted upon African Americans. It can make whites more empathetic to this lives of African Americans but the play itself is tedious and boring for sure. The Inheritance is riveting from start to finish!!

Both of these shows were hugely disappointing to me. I was looking forward to both of them a great deal.

Have you considered The Gazillion Bubble Show instead?

Kidding. But I would maybe say Slave Play only b/c you can see it all in one shot. It's like 1/5 the length of The Inheritance & you'll only have to waste money one on ticket instead of two. :P

Oh sorry-- I didn't realize this post was from a few weeks ago & that you already saw The Inheritance Part 1.

Welp. Glad you enjoyed it. Here's hoping you like Part 2 just as much.

Regarding tony, I'm flabbergasted that they're calling this a leave of absence and not a replacement. flabbergasted.
