Performed live by Katharine McPhee. Definitely sounds like a big, 11 'o'clock number type song. I can see this being the Act 1 finale. Not sure how a Betty Boop musical would actually be as a full show, but I suppose it could be interesting. Katharine sounds great.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

The lyrics are so ... blah. She's shouting about wanting something to shout about? Also, this is a literal "I want" song. Unless the show is extremely shallow, I imagine this will be near top of the show.
Caption: Every so often there was a rare moment of perfect balance when I soared above him.

Ah, that's a good point that I didn't even realize. I guess because the ending had that dramatic, "show stopping" kind of sound, I just assumed.
I agree about the lyrics making it less likely to be an 11 o’clock number, but I like it, and how it builds! It’s a bit cheesy but I’m all for a bit of MT cheese! And Katharine sounds so good, especially considering this is a live performance! From her insta she sang it at a PBS special so I’m guessing it’s from that?
The Betty Boop musical will probably never see the light but it’s cool to hear songs from it. Imagine how many great MT songs there are out there from other musicals that never happened that we’ll never hear

Yeah, it's from his upcoming PBS special. And it's absolutely cheesy, but I mean... It IS Betty Boop, after all. So I feel like it fits.

Ahh okay thanks for confirming! Haha true, it does fit! Imagine singing this every night though on stage .... your voice would be wrecked!
LORD! This musical is still a thing?! I remember when this was new news. Wasn't the plot of this something about like... Betty Boop's demensa suffering grandfather being a big plot point?
EDIT: Yeah.... yeah I looked this one up. "Say You Remember It" from a David Foster and Friends 2011 concert. Can we also talk about how this was SO long ago, he introduces Megan Hilty as and "up and comer."

Oh wow, never saw that before. It's a very pretty song and Megan sounds fantastic! Does anyone know if they've ever done a workshop or even reading of the show?
OMG that is so crazy that Megan sang a song from this musical for David all those years ago, and now Katharine is married to the guy and also singing his songs from the same musical!! It’s a sign that Megan and Katharine just need to be in a for real show together already, haha!
They both sound so freaking good on those songs. Love ‘Something To Shout About’. Could see it being an Act 1 curtain closer!

Yeah, this type of score would definitely be hard on a singer, assuming there are more songs like this in the show."
Yeah I could imagine. David Foster is a big melodic power ballad kinda guy!
Katharine posted the video the PBS performance on her insta and Twitter. It’s pretty great <3
That performance is fantastic. I've always thought she was great but you can tell her voice has gotten even stronger since "Waitress"."
Funny but she doesn’t sound like “Betty Boop”...shouldn’t she be singing this in a pseudo-Mae Questel voice?!?!?! How else would we know it’s from a proposed “Betty Boop” musical? I guess if they ever do get a chance to produce it the it will web performed that way...nice for Mr.Foster to let the “misses” perform the song and get it noticed....
