Was anyone there? Id love a run down of the evening? What did Beth sing?!

I was there. It was a great night and wonderful to see so many favorites on stage together.

As for Beth, the program listed her singing “Poor Unfortunate Souls”, but she didn’t show up so nobody sang it. Heidi was supposed to sing a song from “Freaky Friday” but she didn’t show up so Ashley Brown came out and said she learned the song yesterday morning and knocked it out of the park. I’m surprised they didn’t get Sherie to sing “Souls” since she was already there.

No, she and Adam sang “Beauty and the Beast” and Mandy Gonzalez sang “My Strongest Suit”.

”If I Cant Love Her” - Norm Lewis

 

i was so so so hoping Susan Egan would sing “Home”, but she did sing “I Won’t Say I’m In Love” with Krysta Rodriguez and it’s was brilliant. Egan’s voice hasn’t changed AT ALL in 25 years, I do wish she would come back to Broadway.

I thought about making a trip into NYC this week to see this, but just couldn't justify it, plus I just saw a similar concert in LA during D23 in August. 

What was performed from Mary Poppins?  

and also what did Andrew Barth Feldman perform? 

Thanks for the report!  Sad that Heidi wasn't there... she's a great performer. Would have been fun to see Ashley perform the Freaky Friday song though.

I was there as well and loved it. I got really lucky with a front row mezzanine seat too. I wasn’t expecting that.

It seemed like they purposely had the performers sing songs from shows they weren’t in with a few exceptions. I think the conductor is the same guy who conducts the Epcot Disney On Broadway concert series in January and February so he already works with a lot of these performers. Not sure about the rest of the band though.

Seeing Kara sing Change in Me makes me wish they’d cast her as Belle if the revival ever comes to fruition.

It was my first time seeing Andrew Barth Feldman perform and he had a fun number from The Little Mermaid. Now I really want to see him in DEH.

I wish Ashley Brown would come back to Broadway. She is always so fun to watch.

Fun to see the Newsies reunion with Ashley Park. She also sang the finale Let It Go with Ashley Brown at the end. I wonder if Disney might consider her as an Anna recast in February though Christy Altomare is still my first choice.

I’m not sure how to post photos on here from my phone but I have photos of the program even though there were a few changes.

My only “complaint” about the evening is that Heather Headley wasn’t there. She was on “The View” the other day with everyone else so I was hoping the whole night she’d be a surprise guest.
