For anyone that missed the news, The Bushwick Starr (where Ghost Quartet started amongst other experimental pieces) revealed today that their show that starts on Wednesday 'Black Exhibition' which was promoted as being written by a @GaryXFisher is actually the pen name of Jeremy O.Harris who will also be featured in the show.
I think this is awesome and snagged a ticket the second they revealed it, the run of course is now totally sold out but this article has more info and mentions a possible extension so just putting it on folks radars!
I saw it this week and thought that it was interesting. I thought the same thing about Slave Play when I first saw it. That is why I went back again to see that play and thoroughly enjoyed it at my second viewing. Actually I found the themes somewhat vague. Yet even a "vague" play by Jeremy O. Harris is more entertaining and fulfilling to me than other playwrights who are often praised for their work. The New York Times gave the play a positive review. I am willing to go back and reevaluate the work. Even though the performances are SOLD OUT I noticed that management walked in about six people who were on the waitlist the night I was there.
