No one tomorrow? What about for the rest of the week?

I'm a Gideon Glick fan and am excited to hear how he does. It'll be his first musical in 7 years (per his twitter) and seems like the perfect opportunity to for him to dip his toes back in the waters. I wonder if Groff's "scheduled leave" was purposefully set up for this reason given it lines up perfectly with TKAM's cast change. (If so it makes everything so much adorable)

I know this is at the end of Glick's stint, so others will most likely report back before I do, but I have tickets for the 15th. Super pumped to see him as Seymour and to see this show with such a star-studded cast.

Very excited to hear reports. Still holding out hope it extends next year with him in it. My wallet is ready XD

Can’t wait to hear your reviews! I wonder if they’ll change the merchandise to have his name on it too.

On a side note, I’m surprised we heard nothing about how rehearsals are going, etc.

For a two week stint? Highly unlikely.

It wasn’t, Groff is taking the next 2 weeks off to do Frozen 2 promo.  Just a happy coincidence.

Any reports from tonight?

I’m guessing it was too soon to get any reports as the theater holds so few people. Will probably see something as the weekend gets closer.

I am 100% certain though that he blew it out of the park!

I was there last night. Glick was wonderful: adorably rubbery and faux-clumsy movements and beautiful singing in contrast. Couldn’t imagine a better performance.

Not sure if they've been there, but I looked earlier today, and lots of seats were open for most of the shows during his run. Different prices, but saw several $99 tickets.

So happy to hear he gave a great performance! I’m sure every day he’ll get better and then, it will be time to leave.

Was at this evenings performance- what a production! Frothy fun with such excellent, grounded moments.

Glick shines tremendously and approaches every moment with earnestness and sincerity. And he sounds divine. I do hope he returns if Groff decides to depart again for another engagement.

Sounds like he's doing great in the show.  Looking forward to Saturday night.  I would like to hear he returns too, but it looks like it's closing on 1/19.

^I was kind of hoping for another extension, too, specifically to let Glick take over.  I love Groff, and thought he was terrific....but I'd really love to see Gideon in a leading role, and I have no doubt he's knocking it out of the park.

I wouldn't rule out further extensions just yet.

I enjoyed Glick, though it seemed like he had some trouble with the lower notes. This was especially noticeable during the patter portion of “Now (It’s Just The Gas)”. But that was a very small thing. I thought he was a perfect Seymour!

I must say though that I wasn’t a fan of Tammy Blanchard’s Audrey at all. I agree with those who thought she played Audrey as drunk or drugged the whole time. It was strange. And I’m so sorry to say this, but she has one of the weakest singing voices I’ve ever heard on a New York stage. I’d read complaints about her voice and was hoping that she just had a “unique” sound, much like Ellen Greene (I know that there are many people who don’t like Greene’s voice), but it just sounded like this role was completely out of her range. They lowered the key for “Suddenly Seymour” and it still didn’t sound great. I was very disappointed. The fact that they cast this production so traditionally is even more upsetting when you think of the WOC who could’ve brought a unique perspective to the role AND sang the hell out of it. Oh well. Christian Borle’s performance kinda made up for any disappointments I had with the show.

I saw the matinee yesterday and agree with seaweedjstubbs. For me it was fun but there were more than a handful of moments where he would do something just a bit off and I would think "oh I bet Groff nails that!" It was also his second time in the show so I bet they're not all in sync yet.

Also agree about Blanchard. She brought the emotion when needed but didn't seem to have command over the vocals or the character.

For me, the puppet steals the show. It's always been my favorite part and from the operation of it to the voice acting, it was the best bit to me.

Borle is, as expected, just great in all of his numerous roles.

I was there yesterday afternoon as well. First off, I loved the theater itself, so intimate and the staff was super nice.
I thought Gideon Glick did a good job but like mentioned earlier there were some moments that were a little clunky and he has a lisp that made some of the lyrics hard to understand. I looked up videos of him on YouTube prior to going and was blown away by his voice but yesterday he really only let loose a couple times.
I don't know if it was because I was so close to the stage but for me the sound mix was way off. I especially noticed this during Suddenly Seymour. To my ear his mic was cranked up way higher than hers so when they started singing together there was no blend.
Tammy Blanchard had some really odd choices here. She had a weird cadence that totally reminded me of the way Chad Kimball performed Huey in Memphis. During Somewhere That's Green she contorted her body in a really weird way that's hard for me to describe but it just looked really awkward. It was impressive that she can cry at will and I felt like she was giving it her all.
Borle and the puppets were definitely the stars here. Borle was hysterical and had a few impressive quick changes. The different versions of Audrey II were really funny and whoever voiced him was great.
Overall it's a fun two hours and definitely worth seeing. I've had Downtown stuck in my head for two days now.

I made a return to visit to Skid Row tonight to see Gideon Glick as Seymour and Tammy Blanchard as Audrey (she was out the first time I saw this with Jonathan Groff). I still think that this is a perfect production of a perfect show. It was extremely interesting to see the show with two new leads.

I will start with Gideon Glick. This has got to be one of the absolute **BEST** casting choices made in a long time. His Seymour is adorably clumsy, awkward, yet so incredibly charming. I liked Groff just fine, but Gideon Glick takes this character to new heights. His acting chops are phenomenal, and his vocals are extremely impressive. This is truly a role he was born to play. I LOVED him.

Then there’s Tammy Blanchard. I was disappointed when she was out the first time I saw this as she was the one I was most excited to see. I didn’t realize just how good I had it with seeing her (wonderful) understudy, Chelsea Turbin, until I saw Tammy Blanchard’s utterly bizarre performance tonight. I have no idea what the hell she was doing or even what planet she was on, but she played Audrey like an intoxicated and drugged out woman. Easily one of the strangest performances I have ever seen on a stage in recent memory.

Christian Borle continues to wow and nail the comedy. He’s a comic genius, and it’s always a treat to see him onstage. Seeing him and Glick share the stage during the dentist scene was one of those rare magical theatrical moments when you have two perfectly cast talents who are so in their elements that is just feels like magic.

I cannot recommend this production highly enough, no matter who you see in the cast. I definitely prefer Gideon Glick’s Seymour to Groff’s, and Chelsea Turbin’s Audrey to Blanchard’s, but this is still a must see production no matter which combination of the cast you get.

Really holding out hope for an extension here. I’d think they’d want to put it on sale soon since we’re about 2 months away from the closing date...

I am consistently shocked by people disliking Blanchard’s performance, especially when describing it as “drunk.” She was broken and felt like she had no reason to live. She was sleepwalking through a life she didn’t think she deserve. I thought she was marvelous.

I have to agree with all the negative Tammy comments here.  She was bizarre and seemed drunk or high.  I did not care for her singing either.  However, I do feel she could have been from Skid Row.  I just know someone else could have played it much better.  Gideon was perfect but hard to hear in the Dentist's office but really let loose a few times perfectly.  And Borle, what can I say, except, perfection achieved!

Saw it last night.

Agree Gideon is wonderfully cast. Disagree about Blanchard's take on the role, which I found to be unique and refreshing. Her voice isn't the strongest, though she was also crying before Suddenly Seymour, which is never good for the voice.

Boyle is indeed a comic genius. He's having a blast up there and it shows. Hell, they all are.

Mayer's production is pretty fantastic.
