I mean I’ll watch it but I have to ask why? There’s already a movie and two concert productions available (the first 10th anniversary concert is still the best one) and the 25th anniversary concert already features performances by Alfie Boe and Matt Lucas in the same roles. This seems unnecessary.

It is unnecessary but for lovers of Les Mis, it's just another fun thing we get to enjoy.

WHY? Why didn’t they just film and preserve the Original? There’s a reason it ran 30 plus years in the West End... ugh

They did. Not sure for what purpose.

I saw this the day I arrived in London recently, figuring if I took a jet lag-induced nap during the show it wouldn't matter much. I'm happy to report that it was a thrilling performance. Did not sleep a wink. And because the show is so much about the passage of time, it is very moving to see Michael Ball, the original Marius, now splendidly playing Javert, some three decades later, side-by-side a new generation of actors.
