I was at the performance of Bella Bella last night, watching the show (I thought it was pretty good, although not Harvey's best work) when an old man gets up part way through the show, literally pees on the carpet, and then just walks back to his seat and watches the rest of the show. I honestly thought I must have been hallucinating, but someone next to me at stage door asked Harvey about it and he confirmed that it did in fact happen, and he tweeted about it too.
I'm called to mind the thread here a while back about the "Betrayal Masturbator", and I'm seriously wondering what's going on. Why does there seem to be no consequences for these people, and why do they do this? It doesn't seem to be making a point about anything, and even with phones I can at least understand that we now live in a society where people can't handle not being plugged in 24/7 even at the expense of everyone around them.
While this reminds me so much of the Ripley Grier pooper and the Betrayal masturbator, I don’t think I’ll be so quick to point and laugh at this one. The fact that this man has been described as elderly makes me think that... maybe he didn’t have complete control over what he was doing, and was too ashamed to acknowledge it.
Then again I could be wrong, and he could’ve just done it out of entitlement, but I don’t think I’m as quick to laugh as I was last time.

He may not even have been aware of his actions...if he is suffering from dementia.
This has nothibg to do with intent, malice or entltlement. (Most likely.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I think the Betrayal masturbator story is a hoax. If any of you have seen this production of Betrayal, it is so quiet throughout the entire show that one could hear a pin drop. If it did happen, more audience members would have heard it. lol.
As for the elderly man, hopefully next time he goes to the theater he will be more prepared and wear Depends.
