Seeing a Sunday matinee and was curious if it is running quickly enough for us to get to Penn Station? Next train isn’t for another 3 hours so want to try to make the 5:17.

I already have tickets to the late change but can exchange them if we see we make it, just curious if I should bring my backpack with us and try or leave it back at the hotel to collect later (after a long dinner I guess),

I checked the timestamp of the pic I got with MLP at the stage door after the matinee on 10/6 - it was 5:03 so I'd say yes, you probably can make it (and I realize you said nothing about doing the SD).  If I recall correctly the show wrapped up right around 4:30.

I was also at the October 6 Sunday matinee.  I was at the parking lot getting my car about two blocks from the theater at 4:40.  I think your biggest logistical concern is getting from Studio 54 to your platform at Penn Station platform in 45 minutes or less.

Thanks. Yea no SD for this show (we hardly ever do them). I think the quickest option is C/E from 50th St. I think we’ll try - I’ll know when we are on the subway if we can make it and can exchange tickets then).

my reaction to this is, "why stress yourself?"

you say you already have tickets for the later train.  i would just enjoy the show, take your time getting out, take your time getting down Penn Station, hang out at the food court, and then catch your train.

You can walk that in under 30.

FYI with the hold, running time seems closer to 1:45 than the advertised 1:30–was towards the back of the crowd leaving tonight and was outside at 8:48. But even if the performance lets out on the later side (as tonight’s did, and we didn’t start until about 10 after the hour), that should still leave you enough time on the C/E train or on foot.

I take this train almost every other weekend (my stop is after Philly and the 3 hr wait just to get the next direct train kills so I have to make this train). As long as you’re out of the theatre by 4:30 (4:45 at the latest), you can make it. I normally walk down 8th because if you walk down 7th, you’ll get the Times Square congestion. Avoid that. The train is normally boarding by the time you get to NYP but you’ll make it.
