Last night, Chance the Rapper performed on SNL and his first song was inspired by the Rodgers and Hammerstein “Impossible.” As the performance started, video of his child singing the original song in the car played. Then he started his own song with references to it. Interesting take!

Heres his song. It’s called “Zanies and Fools.” https://youtu.be/-S4QLlFasQE

Huh? WTF? The only portion sampling “Impossible” from R&H’s CINDERELLA is the short phone video of his daughter singing it in her car seat. His rapping portion sounded like a bunch of mumbling with the chorus singling “impossible.” If he was referencing Cinderella, that wasn’t heard thru that rapping mumbling.

There are references to Cinderella throughout the song.

Right, I didn't say he covered the song. He referenced it and used it as inspiration. His daughter sang it at the beginning of the performance, and then when he starts, he talks about "zanies and fools," mentions how "it's possible" with kids singing it in the same notes as the original in specific parts.

I was actually responding to Brody. I clearly heard the references in the rap.

I'm not sure if it was the carseat or....? But I don't think his daughter has the diaphragm strength to even be a stagehand, let alone a Broadway superstar.

Why are we making fun of a child? It wasn’t supposed to be a masterclass performance, it was meant to be cute.

I thought jokes were meant to be amusing? What namo said wasn’t funny at all.
