For the last year, I’ve searched Broadway.com for Glengarry Glen Ross every evening and gotten the “ this show opening soon” notation. The last two days when I search it shows “ nothing matches your search”. I guess this means it’s “officially” dead for now, huh?
In their announcement of the American Buffalo revival this season, the New York Times included the following update on Glengarry:
"Last August, it was announced that Mr. Richards and Mr. Traxler were part of the producing team for an all female-revival of a different Mamet play, “Glengarry Glen Ross,” that was scheduled to begin performances in May of 2019. In a statement to The Times, the “Glengarry” producing team (which also includes Rebecca Gold) said, “We have deferred the production to the 2020-2021 season” in order to “secure the right theater.”
I just did a search and did not find a peep about the all-female Glengarry that Amy Morton is supposed to direct. Is this still happening?
I found an article that referred to a Jason Reitman reading that was done back in 2013 with Mae Whitman, Carla Gugino, Robin Wright, Catherine O'Hara, Melanie Lynskey and Maria Bello. Can you imagine? I would be so there.
