She was terrific in 'Prime Suspect'.  I wish that was broadcast again.  She's one of my FAVs, too.

I’m a huge fan of Helen Mirren and a huge fan of Romanov history but CATHERINE, THE GREAT was a train wreck. It was stunning to look at but I got half way through episode three before I called it a day. 

Why on Earth would you make a show about one of the most fascinating women from history and have it all about her fawning over one man. I cringed every time she called Jason Clarke beautiful then we would see a shot of him looking like a pit bull chewing a wasp. 

I also hate that they kept calling her “Empress” rather than “Tsarina”
