Golden Age Songs

My daughter is 13 and needing a golden age sone that shows her range.  She has a huge range but is more of a soprano.  Any suggestions?  Needs to be age appropriate.

Song choices are so personal it's hard to make recommendations without knowing the singer. But you and your daughter might try searching for Deanna Durbin on YouTube. She was MGM's designated "teen soprano" in the late 1930s and early 1940s (and supposedly competition for Judy Garland, the studio's designated "teen swing singer". You should find clips of Durbin singing in old movies; there might be something there that isn't overdone.

Also try Kathryn Grayson, a slightly later MGM soprano. And, even later, Shirley Jones.

I am assuming you, at least, know the Rodgers and Hammerstein soprano roles, because there's a lot there your daughter can try.
