Last night on LOGO, the first episode of "RuPaul's Drag Race UK" premiered. The contestants were very similar to the US queens, with the exception of two: a queen who had never been to a drag show and considers himself "a baby queen" and the other one revealed when he first arrived that he had received an "award" for Best Drag Performer during a visit to the UK. Other than that, same format, same type of judging, nothing different from the US version, except for the accents. Why did this take so long to happen?
UK rules are different for TV and they can’t do corporate sponsorships to give cash or prizes, I read.
Having watched the first two episodes on the WOW app (sign up and get the first month free), I love this season. It *almost* makes up for last season here in the states.
My favorites so far are The Vivienne, Baga & Sum Ting Wong.
Wow wow wow, this weeks episode was maybe one of the all-time greats. A fun mini challenge, extensive workroom time and stake building, and a fantastic runway. These queens are fantastic television.
THRILLED for Divina! She’s one I’ve been hoping would emerge as a frontrunner, but I was worried she was going to continue to get overshadowed by Viv and Baga. Her runway this week absolutely killed.
Damn, Divina showed THE GOODS this week and propelled herself as a true threat for the crown. Perfect from head to toe.

I don't want to say too much about tonights episode as I don't think many have seen it yet. But after Snatch Game the crown is The Viviennes' to lose. Baga was very good. Divina a disappointment. And shocked there was no Kim Woodburn. But still think they will be the top three in the final.

I agree with all that. Also, the very end in the workroom with the eliminated queen made me cry. Is that the first time that’s ever happened, when a queen was saying her goodbyes?

I don't recall that ever happening before. Just thought of a question I thought while watching. When did Geri get all prim and proper? Appears she no longer likes mildly crass humor.

Also, only four episodes in this really is far and away the best season of this show in quite a few years.

I don't think I have enjoyed a series of Drag Race so much in a long time. Another great episode from beginning to end. Even the musical challenge was great. Davina made me cry and Baga made me laugh. Some seasons I can't wait for them to be over. I do think I will miss this series when it is over.

I was hoping against hope that the runner up would have been the winner. But yes, this was the best season of the show in quite a long time. I’m so sad it’s over.

I agree about the runner up but would have been happy with any of the three. Curious to see how long it will take before series 2 starts filming and with the ratings wouldn't be surprised if it moves to BBC 2.

I know they’re doing Season 12 and another All Stars here next year so I’m guessing they’ll film whenever they have a minute to go across the pond again. I’m really curious if they’ll up the number of Queens/Episodes for UK S2 now.
