I'm really happy that Guettel got to do the music for To Kill a Mockingbird, however, it's been so long since his last musical work on Broadway. Does anyone know what's happened to his MILLIONS? His webpage doesn't seem to be updated and you can barely find any info about its past readings/workshops. The songs from the score you can find online or on CDs are pure magic. Here and Here
And does anyone know anything at all about his another project, DAYS OF WINE AND ROSES? On his website, there's a recording of There Go I from it and again, it's stunning. Here
It's been so long since there were any new musically sophisticated shows on Broadway, we need this. This and the new Sondheim show.
well I don't know what you mean so perhaps define it. And then perhaps also define "next" since it seems an odd choice to describe something when the last something was 16 years ago. Supposedly he has played around with several movies, but nothing has come of anything and since it seems clear he is not planning on breaking a sweat, I wouldn't hold my breath. Ditto for Sondheim who at least can have his lack of productivity attributed to advanced age.
Really? My post saying that he had burnt bridges and engaged in "bad behavior" and that made people reluctant to hire him was deleted? That isn't hearsay- Guettel literally talks about his troubling relationship with sex and drugs HIMSELF in this article in 2003:
Like the ongoing assassins revival rumor, this topic seems to get resurrected every 6 months. I think I’ll forever be angry that he and William Goldman couldn’t figure out their differences to successfully create a Princess Bride Musical.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

What "rumor" of an Assassins revival are you referring to? It's been officially announced for Spring 2020 at CSC and initial casting has been announced, as well. As far as being "angry" -- well that's just plain ridiculous, But if you find it's helpful, by all means go at it.

Thank you for persisting, Kad. I love Guettel's music and I think it's entirely relevant to discuss the things that deter him if he himself has admitted to them. (FTR, they are issues that--except for the womanizing--I share myself.)

It is. Goldman wanted 75% of the royalties and Guettel told him to take a hike. I only know what I read, but I cannot imagine even a hungrier composer/lyricist with some semblance of a track record agreeing to that.
