They have a new space in Hell’s Kitchen that’s just for MCC. It has theaters and also it’s for all their offices. Before their theaters were separate from their offices which wasn’t ideal.

Their new space in midtown is beautiful! Personally I prefer it to the Lortel. For all its history and old character, I find the Lortel in need of a renovation. And it didn't allow MCC flexibility of space and production valuethat they now have. Also, while MCC has been a major player in the NY theatre scene for a long time, IMO their new space kind of legitimizes them in a new way. It really feels like they have joined the ranks of major non-profits like The Public, Second Stage, Signature, etc. who have their own theatrical homes where they can do whatever they want.

I agree that MCC's new home is beautiful and the Lortel desperately needs a renovation! MCC now has a proscenium theater and also a black box for smaller shows. The location is way far over on the West Side but it's a booming area and worth the trek!
