What are you doing to stop it? What are you not doing?

I'm just curious to see what little steps people are taking, if any. Is the average person actually doing anything? With that scum in the White House, isn't it all the more important that we actually make a real and substantial change in our own lives?

Do you still fly?

Do you drive an electric car?

Do you drink from plastic bottles?

Do you use a re-usable coffee cup?

Do you still eat meat?

Do you wear clothes made in Asia?

Do you eat fruit out of season?

Do you buy flowers flown in from the other side of the planet?

Do you use devices made in China?

How clean is your conscience?

Our beautiful State of California is once again in drought, with terrible wildfires throughout.  We live two blocks from a canyon here in Southern California.  Two days ago, there was a brush fire in that canyon that caused the temporary evacuation of perhaps a dozen of our neighbors.  Fortunately, no loss of life or property.  We have had coyotes from the canyon roaming the neighborhood (including in our front yard) for over a month, searching for food and water.  I can only hope the canyon animals survived the fire.  Our home was not in danger, but our cars and property had a light coating of ash.

This was the fire, which was eventually extinguished with water dropped from helicopters.

Climate change is real.

Even that is not enough to convince people to change. Not just GOP idiots, but everyone. Covid-style restrictions need to brought in for there to be any hope.

Sadly no one seems to be aware that 2 of the biggest countries on the planet are exempt from taking any actions because they are deemed to be developing countries. Sort of like saying De Blassio is a great mayor. .

A number of scientists blames China for spewing **** into the air with their continued construction of dirty coal power plants . Some even think if they would stop the US and a good part of the world would not need to make any sacrifices . India is the other developing country .

No one mentions Nuke Power. Our illustrious ex governor closed Indian Point for no reason. It has been providing pollution free power for decades but he still closed it.It was, responsible for about 35% of NYC power. Wonder how it will be replaced.

You could speak about it for days. The green New deal is a cure worse than the disease It would cause massive job losses and would devastate major parts of the country. It could very easily cause a depression. Bottom line we need common sense ideas and than maybe we can move forward.

Far be it to say we shouldn't do something. But some of these are downright impractical. Flying? How else can one get somewhere across the country or world now? I'm not taking a train cross country or a boat/yacht across the ocean, no one has the days on end to spare, ergo lost money, for this. As much as I admire Greta for her climate justice work, that yacht she took across the Atlantic, leaves its own carbon footprint so I tended to find it a hypocritical move. I'm willing to be corrected if I'm missing something with that.

Yes I drink from a plastic bottle and keep that bottle as long as possible and when I do get rid of it, it goes into recycling, I actually am a recycling nut.

I've been trying to lessen my eat intake. We ALL use devices made in China. Have fun trying to find one that isn't. Clothes is tad easier to find non China made items, but still difficult.

Electric cars? Until they are less expensive and chargers are available everywhere on roads, you won't see many people using one. And to expound on that, electric cars have their own carbon footprint that for some reason no one seems to talk about...the rare ore that's mined for the batteries. This actually is just as much, possibly more, of a carbon footprint than gas fueled cars.

Anyone see the common denominator? Almost ALL of these are industry problems, not individual ones. Do not mistake me, we as individuals need to our part but it's already been proven time and time again that the biggest contributors to climate change are major industries and corporations, not us 99% peons. Do not forget that the biggest players are doing very well at making us 99% feel like it's our fault and need to make a change when the very way these industries function quite literally prevents these changes from happening.  Watch John Oliver's episode on recycling to get the barest idea of what we're up against with this.

I don't know where my clothes were made either - but I wouldn't be surprised if it was an eleven-year-old girl in Bangladesh up to her knees in water who put them together for me.

It’ll take a lot more than individuals changing their habits to actually make a difference. With that said, I drive a hybrid but my next vehicle will be all electric. The good thing is now that Ford created the Electric F-150 we will be seeing MUCH more electric cars on the road in the future and easier access to charging stations throughout the Country. The F-150 is historically the most sold vehicle every year fort he past few decades and those who drive them have to have the newest and best on the market. Now we’re seeing Mercedes make an electric G Wagon; an electric Hummer; Jeep will debut an electric Wrangler; Mustang has the Mach-e… So over the next 5-10 years we will be seeing way more electric vehicles on the road which is a good thing.

Most of my clothes are made in Italy or America. Though some are still made in China, India etc., which surprised me as one is an Italian Brand that outsources which is sad.

I will say one thing we need to start talking about that is actually EXTREMELY bad for the environment is the Marijuana industry. We NEED to make marijuana legal federally or at least allow marijuana to travel beyond state lines. The industry is booming but you have to grow marijuana in each individual state and it takes so much energy and green house gases to make marijuana indoors. Northern California and Oregon have great resources to grow outdoors which is much better for the environment. Yet California has had marijuana shortages and Oregon has too much they’re wasting so much and they can’t even give any to their neighbor to the south. We need to address this situation because they say producing 1 g of marijuana is the equivalent of driving 20 miles…

It's great to see people interested in taking action on climate change. I think it's important to acknowledge that everyone's situation is different and taking small steps towards sustainability is better than doing nothing at all. I try to limit my meat consumption, use reusable bags, and recycle whenever possible. I also try to support companies that prioritize sustainability, like Carbon Click. They help e-commerce businesses offset their carbon emissions by supporting reforestation projects around the world. It's amazing how much of a difference we can make by being mindful of our purchases and supporting companies that align with our values.

The wildfires are back.

Did they ever go away?

How much of this is our fault?

Quite a few people believe that forest management mismanagement is to blame. Dead wood and undergrowth are not being removed regularly making the forests overgrown tinderboxes. I have no idea if that is true, but it may be something to consider.

How does voting for Democrats help with global boiling?

Will they shut down Exxon? Shell? Gazprom?

Politicians are doing almost nothing about climate change. The World just saw it's hottest 7-day stretch in history. But they sit idle and do nothing. The World will be a boiling pot in 100 years but majority of us will be gone. Does anyone actually think about future generations? Their grandkids?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
