Little Shop of Horrors (PREVIEWS) |

What a pity! We definitely need a Broadway revival in the future. Maybe La Jolla?

Maybe at the Drama Desk. Is Hercules eligible? I would love a Bart vs. Borle showdown for Featured Actor.

Hercules is not eligible. The producers of Little Shop have made it very clear that they have no intention of transferring this to Broadway, which is honestly very smart of them.
Not everything needs to be on Broadway. Part of the charm of this particular production is seeing it in a small theatre.

Exactly! This is a sell out hit Off Broadway, and the producers can keep extending this as long as there is demand, which could be for quite some time. I'm very much looking forward to seeing this in a few weeks.

Only time will tell.
Going with someone who wantsa Gross signed poster, but we're attending the matinee Saturday, does he tend to come out after matinees, or only after evening shows?

I enjoyed her interpretation/performance (not that I am a particular connoisseur of Audreys) and didn’t notice any sort of drugged/drunk aspect that others had commented on in Tammy’s portrayal."
I saw Chelsea Turbin go on about three weeks ago. She is LEAGUES better than Tammy (who I saw last week).
I know this isn’t an opinion many people share, but a little of Mr. Borle goes a VERY VERY long way. He seems more interested in finding various bits of business to do to show off and get all the laughs, rather than actually interact with the people on stage with him.
Everyone else in the cast was very good and I like that they tried to be true to the original production, but I’d like to see a version on this same small scale that plays up the darkness of the story.
I saw Little Shop of Horrors last night (won lottery) – sat front row center and was spat on by Jonathan Groff multiple times, but I’m not complaining – and I freaking loved it!!! Definitely the best show I have seen this season so far. I expect this to sweep the Lucille Lortel awards and it could pull a Yiddish Fiddler and sweep the pre-Tony Awards against Broadway revivals. It is THAT good. Jonathan Groff and Christian Borle were absolutely fantastic. Tammy Blanchard was the weak link in the show, but still wasn’t bad.

I saw this last night with Groff, Blanchard and Borle... and last Friday night, with Glick, Turbin (u/s in for Blanchard) and Borle. Honestly, I was underwhelmed by the show last Friday, and not anxious to see it again, under any circumstances. I was amazed by how much more I enjoyed it with Groff and Blanchard in.
I'm perplexed by reservations about Tammy Blanchard. I thought she made the show come alive for me, with a far more soulful, hurt, but warm and winning Audrey than the lovely, but somewhat bland and a bit undercooked Chelsea Turbin offered.
As a Gideon Glick fan, I have to say that Groff also warmed up the show with his more gorgeous vocals and charm, though he also had more to play against partnered with Blanchard than with Turbin. I cared about Seymour and Audrey, with Groff and Blanchard, which I'm sad to say I didn't so much with Glick and Turbin. I felt those two lifted the performances of everyone else, as compared to last week's without them.
