Is this for the Pasaden production in LA or the off-B'way production? Funny they start previews the same day.

Not sure if there’s another thread for it, but would LOVE to hear how the Pasadena version goes in the next coming days/weeks! I have a ticket to LA and for the show in mid-October and can’t wait!!!

Also this should possibly go in another thread, but can anyone see how busy the lottery is? I assume it's going to be crazy, but curious of how insane it really will be.

Don't quote me on this, but I got the impression the lottery doesn't start until opening night. People in the thread made it sound like the lottery seats were sold for previews.
Of course, I'd love to be wrong because I also want to know how the lottery is lol.

I could see that happening, but it also didn't mention it either way. Do shows that announce lotteries before previews normally have them during previews? The only one I can think of is BJ had that trivia thing with some of their previews before getting a digital lottery.

The lottery starts tonight. But, this is about previews. Post em here folks, I hope everyone has a great time!

Two hours prior to curtain, names will be collected at the Westside Theatre box office (407 W. 43rd St, NYC), and winners will be drawn ninety minutes before the show begins. Lottery tickets are $29 each, and each winner can purchase up to two tickets (cash only, photo ID required). The lottery will launch on Tuesday, September 17, the evening of our first preview. We'll see you there!

BWW said that they would have a lotto starting at the first preview. Doubt they’ll be the same seats as they will be once it opens, but I would trust the BWW article. Either way, I’m going there now to see the situation and find out.

Curious how “big” this production is going to be, etc. It’s not a huge space and I like Mayer’s direction usually, so I’m curious.

Seeing this Oct 13th. First show I ever saw on Broadway was the revival so this show holds a special place in my heart.

I was there tonite.

there shouldn’t be any bad seat in the house. I had the $69 side seat and was perfect view. The way set is, there isn’t anything blocking view.

first , I will state that I never seen a production or heard album of musical before tonite. And I watched movie long ago.

Christian Borle is the stand out with all his characters. I can just imagine how great he will be once he has a couple,of performances in him. 

Jonathan Groff was great when he leaned into dorkiness and when he is with Audrey 2. For those that were worried about him being to handsome; you shouldn’t have any worries. I’m sure he will grow more into role.

Audrey 2 puppetry and voice is great.

now , I’m sure people will complain about Audrey 1 role and since I always read Ellen G. Is the standard. I just found T. Blanchard fine noting special.

The  audience was very enthusiastic. Show was 2 hours including intermission.

for me they were ready for opening . Only problem I had was sometimes the music drown out the singers. Sound needs to be worked on. 

Also, he three ladies singing had great voices and had couple of good moments.

merchandise, I noticed that they had T-shirt’s, not sure what else.

Was there last night and really enjoyed it. Christian Borle is the clear standout and does a really great job. He plays a few different characters so it was cool to see him pop up at times. 

Groff was good, but still outdone by Borle.  The urchins are very good. I agree with a previous commenter that sound needs yo be worked on, but still good. Audrey 2 was phenomenal, and the puppetry was great. Blanchard was good at Audrey, but a few times when I didn't know what was going on with her voice while singing. 

Overall, the show was great, and it's in a very small space which really helps it. The audience was really enjoying it, and particularly love whenever Borle came out.

With this being such a small space, I'm really curious if they are being individually mic'd or not. When I saw the Off-Broadway 'john & jen' revival there were no body mic's so we could hear Kate Baldwin and Conor Ryan's natural voices which was so nice for a change. But with this being a rock score, it might be more difficult. Anyone who has seen it already have an answer?

It’s not about the size of the band. It’s about how you use it.
