So sad I can't fly in to see this. I'm shocked and happy to see such great reactions on social media regarding this. Whether you liked it or not- seems the show has a lot of fans 15 years later. It's great they are doing something to honor it.
"I never had theatre producers run after me. Some people want to make more Broadway shows out of movies. But Elliot and I aren't going to do Batman: The Musical." - Julie Taymor 1999
Legitimately the absolute worst thing I’ve ever had to endure. I sat front row center, trapped for 90 intermission-less minutes while Eden Espinosa screamed at me the entire time. If Hell exists and I’m unfortunate enough to end up there, it will be sitting at this show for all of eternity.
Torturous, indeed. Took a school group to see it - probably one of the very few times they were shell shocked over how not good a broadway show could be.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I saw it twice in Denver, pre-Broadway, in a very small theater. It worked very well there. I do love the music and wish I could attend this concert but can't.
