Shows you're most anticipated for this season? |
My goal is to see several off-Broadway productions. I saw Scotland, PA last Saturday and loved it. Up next: The New Englanders, The wrong man, The underlying Chris and Sing Street. On Broadway, looking forward to Tina, Soldier's Play, Six, Caroline or change and maybe some other shows if discounted tickets will be available.
I am beyond hype for the off-B'way Little Shop. That's the only ticket I have rn but shows like Company, Virginia Woolf, Sing Street, Six, JLP, Caroline or Change and How I Learned to Drive I've been eyeing too.
Edit: Also Assassins and Flying Over Sunset, there are too many productions to keep track, lol
And if we are going for shows that are not confirmed yet, totally Secret Life of Bees. They mentioned that is going to the West End first right or is that a rumor?
CSC Assassins is at the top of my list. I know John Doyle can be hot and cold of late, but the man does wonders with Sondheim.
Also excited for Unknown Soldier at Playwrights. Anything with Michael Friedman's name on it is thrilling, and I wish he were around to give us more.
I don't plan to fly cross-country to NYC again until "The Music Man" lights up Broadway.
But this season here on the West Coast, I'm looking forward to the touring production of "My Fair Lady".
The Inheritance
The Wrong Man (big fan of Travis Wall and I can’t remember if he has done a musical before)
Little Shop
Slave Play
Fires in the Mirror (and the rest of the Anna Deavere Smith plays at Signature)
*Porgy and Bess (at the Metropolitan Opera)
Seared at MCC
Jagged Little Pill
The Wrong Man
I definitely want to see Company and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

It is this season. The cut off for the Tonys is April 25th and it opens a good month before that on March 12th.
I’ll fly up to see Company in the spring for sure. I’ll add Six on because I’m curious about it, and since it’s pretty short, it’s great for a matinee.
Oh I forgot to add... I’m flying up in December for Little Shop! How could I forget that? Probably won’t add anything onto that trip since I’m taking my sister on her first trip to NYC.

Aw man I forgot about that, too! Thank you for the reminder! I'm definitely looking forward to that!
Six, TINA, and Caroline or Change. There are other shows I'm interested in but, from what I know now, these are the ones I have the most faith in.
Flying Over Sunset
Jagged Little Pill
Soft Powder
Tina
American Utopia
I am not a fan of Jukebox musicals but I do want to see Tina. Kind of odd but for some reason I am not considering Jagged Little Pill to be a jukebox musical. Maybe because it is focusing on one particular recording.
SIX!!
I saw a drag queen perform "Dont Lose Your Head" last night at Rockbar and i was livvvvvviiiinngggggg
