I, too, enjoyed it, although I thought the "seven ages of man" use was just a little tortured.
I saw Raul Julia as Edmund in KING LEAR, and I have never seen anyone else come even close to his blend of evil and seductiveness.
I wish that i had seen him in NINE, as that seems like a great part for him.

I saw him in MAN OF LA MANCHA. I did not think the role suited him or his voice, as much as he clearly wanted to do the role.
Hoping I get to see this at some point. What a performer! You can watch all of his performance in Nine on YouTube.

Thanks! I only wish there was more of the SHREW available, too.
Really enjoyed watching this Raul Julia bio. It is available here http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/raul-julia-the-worlds-a-stage-about/11612/

I read a very good article in The New Yorker about the documentary and it said that the entire video of The Taming of the Shrew is available at the Performing Arts Library at Lincoln Center NYC.

I thought you couldn't watch shows in the LIbrary's collection without permission from the people who produced a givenb show (was going to say "authors," but obviously in this case that would be ludicrous).
Costarring Irene Worth and Beatrice Straight!

One of those actors who totally commanded the stage. Dracula, Betrayal, Design for living were performances that I will never forget. Yet NINE topped it all. Forty years later I remember him working his fanny off, enjoying himself, owing the stage, as I sat mesmerized from the last row of the 46th Street theater
