Inheritance Rush Predictions?

From the website "There is no rush or lottery at this time. Please check back for any updates."

BUT any predictions if they will add rush closer to start of previews? I'll be in town weekend of 9/28 when previews start and in looking on Telecharge for 9/28 not only is mezzanine practically unsold, the far three seats of both stage left and right of Mezzanine & Orchestra sections are all blocked off... Is this too wishful thinking especially for previews?

Shows usually tend to announce their rush/lottery policies a few days before first preview -- so keep watching.

They seem to be veeeeery slow in making announcements about their show, so I doubt you will know anything for the majority of this month.

I know it's hard to tell but does anyone think rush will be hard to get? I just read the script and I am really hoping to see this show Oct 12 during previews. I'm having a hard time deciding to buy tickets outright or waiting to rush

Seems to be a hot ticket I'd just get mine now. (Side note: I never did rush tickets...are they cancelled tickets that can be located anywhere, or are they usually in "bad" seats?)

This is a 2-part play, 3 hours each, AND it's not named Harry Potter so I'm sure you'll be fine waiting for rush tickets. Tickets will not be hard to get.

It depends on the production/theater. Some rushes have designated spots (an example would be how Rent started it, all rush seats were in the front row) or they can be unclaimed tickets (not just cancelled but any seat is the theater that is available by the time rush opens). They can be bad seats, but not necessarily. I would recommend looking through past threads of shows that had rush policies and to get an idea of this. Basically we won't know until a policy is announced and people get/sit in those rush tickets.

It depends on production. I rushed The Ferryman and got seat A2 which was a GREAT view in the first row. I believe these seats were blocked off for friends and family of the cast that were released bc the woman I saw next to was the mother of one of the girls.

In London, the day seats (similar to rush here on Bway) for the Inheritance was front row.

For The Ferryman, seat A 2 was a partial view seat. It was definitely not a house seat.

I hope you have to give an argument defending your favorite adaptation of Howards End. I've been preparing mine for weeks.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Really? I did day seats twice last November and was the first or second in line each time and got 3-4th row orchestra each time.

You were right! Updates per the website:

"A limited number of rush tickets will be available for purchase in person for $40 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre box office beginning at 10am for that day's performance only. Each person will be allowed two tickets maximum. Rush tickets are subject to availability and may not be offered at all performances. Rush seating locations will be determined at the discretion of the box office."

Perhaps it was based on seat availability then. I paid full price for a second row seat when I saw it in London last September for part 1. Then when I was in London again in Dec 2018 my London friend told me to just get rush tickets for part 2 and lo and behold, our rush seats were front row!

Did anyone try to rush today?  Any word on seat locations and how many people were there?

Visited box office around 4 and they had rush. Didn’t get though, and don’t know the seat locations.

Does anyone have any info on rush seat locations for Part 2?  And in particular, where the seats are, plus when you arrived at the box office, and if you bought 1 ticket or 2.  I'm seeing Part 2 is pretty well sold (except for rear mezzo).

My friend rushed Part 2 last week, got there at 10am with no one else in line and got orchestra house left in the middle of row G.

Does anyone know how this rush works for 2 - show days? Can you only get a single for both parts?

I’ve rushed for both shows (A Saturday and a Tuesday). Both mid day walk ups to the box office. Got seats easy, rows F and G on the far aisles. Didn’t really miss anything of the 7 hours. But I imagine if you were closer you might. There were plenty of seats empty on the far aisles behind me. It’s spectacular. Go.

I rushed Saturday morning for both shows.  Got there at 8:45 and the line was pretty short (like 10 people long) until about 9:30 when it got longer.  I'm pretty sure everyone got in.  The rush seems to always be side orch, from what I can tell, and they don't seem to be giving the closer rows where it would truly be partial view.  I got single tickets to both parts at the same time on Saturday without any issue.

I rushed Part 2 last Tuesday. Got there on my lunch break between 2:30 and 3. Got Row J (or K? One of those) orchestra right all the way on the far aisle. 1 ticket.  Perfect view. One character was slightly out of view upstage at one point, but that was it.
