Just starting out

Ive always loved theatre, but I grew up in rural Illinois where the arts arent popular. Now Im in college and its my dream to be cast in plays and make a living off doing what I love. Im 21 and have almost no experience. How am I supposed to compete with all these talented actors with years of experience at my university? I just want to be accepted. Where do I even begin? How do I become a better actress when I cant afford lessons or anything?

I switched majors into a competitive musical theatre program when I came from a very small town and didn't have any experience. You can do ANYTHING if you want it bad enough. Maybe not tomorrow or even in college, but if you want to act you can definitely do it!
