There has probably a thread about this somewhere, but this is very specific so sorry if I can't find it. I am curious if every theater does this? Is it just Broadway that has this policy or does off-Broadway also do this if there are names above the title? I'm asking as I have tickets for Little Shop with Borle and Glick, but it's near the end of Glick's 2-week stint. I have been dying to see Borle and unless it extends, I don't think there would be any more tickets I could exchange to see him (and I would rather see the understudy than get a refund). So, my questions are if this production would even have this policy, if I would have to get a refund if they have no more tickets for the dates Borle is in, and if Glick would count as a Name Above The Title? I think the last one is obvious, but still curious as people still really want to see him. Again, I would happily see an understudy too if I can't exchange.

There's no set answer. You could call the box office and ask, though.

Safe to assume that if Groff, Blanchard, or Borle are out, you will be able to exchange your tix for a different date, past-date, of get a refund.

Since its selling incredibly well, I'm doubtful it would even matter if they have a policy. Isnt there only one more week after Glick? IF it extends, maybe youd have a shot.

That being said, with such a short run, only illness is going to keep them out. (And they all have a great attendance record.)
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Is this an actual policy for most broadway shows though? I remember posters here complaining when Andrew Garfield and/or Nathan Lane were out of Angels in America and the box office would not allow exchange or returns.

Maybe, but I feel like if they were to extend, Borle might not extend with the rest of the show. It's possible but we will see.

This is great to hear. I've always been nervous for seeing shows for specific actors after my SO went to DEH during Platt's last week and still missed him.

I assume you mean if they in fact have that policy when the OP calls.
