Someone, please, correct me if I’m wrong!
But then again, maybe there are a couple of steps and this is just my able-bodied privilege making me not have to notice things like that.

Thanks for the heads up!. Luckily in our case, a few steps with handrail is not a problem. (Much less so than crosscurrents of crowds of oblivious tourists when we're slowly making way with his cane.)

...and for what it's worth, it looks like six of the seven slots are shows within a block or so of the Marquis! (except Lincoln Center which is a cab in any event) ...As penciled-in at the moment, Lunt-Fontanne, Barrymore x2, Jacobs, Brooks Atkinson, [Vivian Beaumont], Broadhurst.
I stayed at the Hotel Edison a few years ago, and after a certain hour, they make you show your card key to get in. During the day, you should be fine to cut through if you're inconspicuous.

Thanks. The latest would be in the post curtain rush after the PM performance of The Inheritance (3+ hrs, I think). With my husband with his cane, I think most hotel security would let us through the lobby upon request.

Oooh...you two are gonna have a fantastic time!!!

Having walked through there just this afternoon, I can confirm there are no steps!

You can also say you are going to the restaurant or meeting a guest at the bar.
Yeeeeeeeeeees. Still miss the Edison diner so much but I’m so glad you can walk from 44th to 47th between avenues again.
Me too! Just thinking recently about this skit and the matzoh ball soup.

They are talking about walking through the alley and not the actual hotel itself.

We’re talking about walking through the hotel itself, actually.
We always stay at Hotel Edison and they only ask for a room key if you care going up the elevators. The lobby restrooms are usually unlocked also. It is such a great way to get from 47 to 46.
