Here is a recent video of Prince George and his siblings at play. Sweet kids. They're in good hands. I hope the Royal Family will share videos of the little ones dancing.

Did you not get the memo, AADA81? We're done being "outraged" at this particular issue. It's time to find a new Twitter mob to join.

You mean you're mocking me because in my first time here in a while I responded to a thread that's still on page 1 of this chat board? Really? Next thing you'll be mocking me because as a boy I studied ballet.
This was not really about boys and ballet, so all of the dancing queens rushing to give a teaching moment and gushing forgiveness are on a fool's errand.
I waited until I had actually watched her piece before I weighed in. My observations:
1. Those who claim the object of her humor was ridiculing Georges parents for overloading him with extraciriculars are being disingenuous. Listen to her inflections-she clearly used ballet as the punchline in her piece. And after all, no one laughs at parents who enroll six year old boys in kindersoccer or T ball, and sarcastically comments Let's see how long that lasts.
2. Was her piece hurtful? was an apology mandatory? Hard to say. Men who embrace dance as a career have probably learned to laugh off such ignorant attitudes, but prejudices are composed of a thousand small slights, so the outrage was ultimately beneficial. GMA at least thought up a positive mea culpa-too bad the producers were asleep at the wheel and didn't kill her piece BEFORE IT AIRED.
3. Should Lara be fired. Yes-but not for bigotry or stereotyping, but intellectual laziness. She should have known that Diana was a strong supporter of Ballet and all the arts. She should have learned the lessons of Billy Elliot, film and musical. If you have a high powered job on network tv, do a little homework, for God's sake!
Why do people have such an issue with male ballet dancers? They're cultured, in great shape, and surrounded by girls. They're doing pretty well for themselves if you ask me.

I've stayed away from talking about this gaffe overall for a few reasons...but then I watched that coverage. I want to scream. Who cares who does what career??? Apparently Fox does...Lara just sounded ignorant, but Fox is being downright classless and mean spirited.
