Death Becomes Her
Tammy Faye Bakker
Dusty Springfield (or is this a movie?)

There were rumors that Elton John has also written a different Tammy Faye musical and wants to premiere it next year. Kristin it's time!! We need you!
Didn't she do a reading or workshop of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas sometime in the recent past?
Kristin has said in the past that she has a habit of saying "yes" to everything, and unfortunately ends up not being able to do most. If one of them comes to fruition, good for her! I believe Death Becomes Her was the project she spoke of most recently, but that can mean absolutely nothing in terms of what may happen.
The only show she was forever attached to and that finally DID happen was the recent revival of ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. At least one came to be.

And a lot of that time was spent trying to find a leading man for her. She finessed Hugh Jackman into doing the readings long before the physical production was given the greenlight, but he was always upfront about not wanting to continue. The show belongs to the leading lady, and he knew that, especially with a persona such as Chenoweth's. He even said in a printed interview that he insisted she continue without him, as she absolutely had to play the role in New York, but his role was not one he felt he needed to pursue.
She's subbing for Groff in Little Shop for those two weeks...

Anyone know who's writing that Death Becomes Her musical? I remember Joe Iconis wrote a cabaret song based on the movie at some point.

I would actually love to see her Madame Morrible. She can do campy very well. Those costumes would look bizzare on her though.
I believe I heard not too many months ago that her spinal cord injury had yet to leave her alone and still produced insomnia or other symptoms. This article may or may not shed light on this.

I REALLY want this to happen. She’d arguably make a better Celeste than Sally Field.

I want to say the rumor was Frankel and Korie, but it was never substantiated.
She’s also been trying to do a Dolly musical or movie forever. And at one point she was rumored to be a contender for a Hello, Dolly revival before Bette finally said yes.
I would pay a LOT of money to see her Morrible. It probably be the funniest take on the role since Carole Kane.

Without great reviews/word of mouth I feel like that would do worse than Tootsie. Is there a huge audience for that IP?
That said, I would gag over a Death Becomes Her or Clue musical. But without stellar material I can't see those attracting a huge audience on name recognition alone.
