Longtime lurker here – but I'm very excited because I think I've made something that no one has done before so I wanted to share and get feedback :)
My buddy and I have made a mockumentary webseries through the “Updates” section of an active (but mostly a joke) Kickstarter campaign.
The campaign is for a one-act musical called SCHOOL OF FISH, a romp about fish in high-school who use the power of poetry to end World War II – featuring Pearl Harbor, teenage romance, pelvic floor pain (in men), and over-sized, grotesque fish costumes.
We believe it deserves to be on Broadway (not really us, but the characters we play).
We're eight days into the campaign and have currently raised $3,550 and got a lot of YouTube hits. We wrote a lot of original comedy songs and even staged an extravagant reading of the material (which we'll be releasing in two weeks from now). The whole piece is about the love/hate relationship of producing your dream project, so I figured y'all would be a great audience.
