I’ve been DYING to see this show, but it seems like he hasn’t been in the last few performances. Does anyone know if he’s on vacation/sick? Hoping to see the show tonight, and really hoping to see him as well.

The show doesn't release their schedules, but my guess is that he's on vacation. Will Brill was out for about a week recently, so they might just be alternating weeks off for the main cast

I didn't care either way who I saw but Denver Milord was in for Damon on Thursday night and I thought he was fantastic.

I saw some people tweet at the show to ask if there were planned outages, and they said they don't make that info publicly available. I'm sure Denver Milord is great, but I'd be really disappointed to miss Damon, so I get it. Hope he's back for you!

He's been on vacation the entire week, he won't be back until next Tuesday most likely.

I don't have any info on Daunno's vacation schedule, but I saw today's matinee and he was most definitely in.

That's so odd because I was there tonight and he definitely was not. His understudy was wonderful though.

I was at today's matinee also, and I was pleasantly surprised that the whole cast was in, which is probably going to get harder and harder as cast members start taking vacations.  Damon Daunno did the stage door thing afterwards.  He was extremely nice to everyone, and he didn't seem sick or anything.

I wonder if he came back from vacation just for that one show for some reason.  IIRC, when I saw Come from Away, Jenn Collela was on her vacation week but she did the show I saw.

Iowa, where were you sitting? I was on the "odds" side, closer to the band.

I say the whole cast was in, but I should have mentioned that there is now a Weds matinee/Saturday matinee alternate for the solo dancer.  I don't think there was an alternate when the show opened.

So I bet their Instagram is happy to claim they have a Tony nominated lead but then they won’t even tell you if he is scheduled to perform? I hate things like this. I loved the show but I’ll never buy a full price ticket in advance again for it if I want to see the cast. Too risky.

Yeah that's a bit ridiculous. I've been planning to see it again but I guess I'll wait until summer is over and hope everyone is back in.

Hey Mike - I was in the odd-numbered 200's pretty close to where you were. Guess we should count ourselves lucky that we chose the right performance, no? As an out-of-towner I won't have a chance to see it again.

Thanks, Iowa! I find the whole "we know people are out but refuse to tell anyone" aggravating.  The reality is that most people don't care that much, so why not allow the information to the small percentage who do?

I also would not buy a full-priced ticket in advance to this show again, with this policy in place.

I saw it last Tuesday and was happy to have the whole cast. But now I’d like to see some understudies.

According to this tweet, quite a few understudies are going on today!

Damnnnn that's pretty crazy. But, August is always dead in the City because people take vacations including many actors. Come September, I think it will be better. Some people do to go shows to see certain people, so I am glad I am going in the Fall. I just want to see Damon and RNJ.  I don't care for Ali's Ado so I will be fine if she is out, which she seems to be quite often.

I've seen it twice, Ali was not on for either. That is pretty insane that three leads are out today. I hope people who are attending today don't mind it.

Will they refund or exchange if the Tony Award winning actress is out?

Does anyone know if Gabrielle's been in it recently? I saw Oklahoma twice during August and she was out both times

To be honest, people are probably coming to this for the show itself and (Stroker aside) not necessarily the cast, which might make the producers feel like they don’t need to announce their absence.

Some actors who have a large social media presence (I.e Stephanie J. Block) might make their absences known if they have a large enough fan base where people buying tickets might be upset to miss them. Damon Daunno ain’t on that level.

FWIW, I don’t know what all the to-do about him or this production is. I was not a fan at all of anything about this production, aside from a Stroker and Testa

By that logic, they shouldn't have any reluctance to announce it since it likely won't generate a lot of cancellations or people deciding to wait to buy tickets. It's just low risk good will. But like others, I find their very deliberate refusal to be transparent very disappointing. It just doesn't present them in a very favorable light.

I completely agree. I have contacted them on social media and box office, both are met with silence and no information about the company. Which is complete crap. So many people are transparent about their vacations these days in case people traveled just to see them, I honestly think people deserve that. Perhaps that is ridiculous but tickets are too expensive these days to be disappointed because they were not given a heads up.

I don't think they are under any obligation to announce the cast's vacation schedule.

When I saw the show, I was initially off-put by Duanno but as the performance progressed I thought he was terrific.  Like so much about this production, I think I resented the straying from the original, only to realize how invigorating this production and these actors are.

I would not pay good money to see some dubiously talented people prancing and singing around folding tables and Fiestaware.  Also, I used to live in Oklahoma; it didn't turn out so well.

The chili was really good and there really wasn't that much prancing. You should at least consider paying some bad money.
