New season scores ?

Out of the new shows this season what were some of your favorite and the best scores in your opinion?? Have a good day !

There have been no new scores this season so far. In fact, the only upcoming announced show with a new score is SIX, though we may be getting Lightening Thief, Almost Famous, Secret Life Of Bees, and maybe another, too.

Didn't one of the creatives behind Secret Life of Bee mention a London transfer first? I get that could mean it could come late in the 19/20 season, but they also mentioned they were still working on it, so that makes it seem more likely that it could go in the 20/21 season imo.

Hadestown is the only music I purchased for last season.

Hadestown is beautiful and incredibly written. Be More Chill is second for me, as I feel the lyrics are stellar and as a whole has a contemporary musical theater sound that I love.

Other than that, I thought every other new score on broadway this season was a total dud. Off-Broadway was an embarrassment of riches though, with Rags Parkland Sings The Songs of the Future, Octet, We Are The Tigers, Shaina Taub’s Twelfth Night, and Secret Life of a Bees being remarkable scores.

I really want to agree on Be More Chill but I’m not entirely down with the current version. The original album? I am ALL for that music. The new one? I really, really dislike it. No offense to anyone involved, I just do not enjoy listening to it.

I agree. I don’t really like the music to begin with but the older cast album is much better than the broadway cast album. They made it a little watered down to me
