So apparently many chorus people from a bunch of shows tonight are gathering for a mourning party for all the closing shows this month
A bunch of the Cher Show chorus came out in some awesome funeral looks and I was wondering if anyone else at stage doors tonight saw ensemble members in funeral finery?

Beyond the pearl clutching (covered above), I still don't get why a bunch of unprofitable shows all closing after not winning Tonys has become such a major topic.
You putting a "#" in front of anything on this website is stupid. And typing "bloodbath" for entertainment considering 31 people died in under a day last weekend is despicable.
When you trace the # back on Instagram- it seems to have been started by Morgan James- who has a history of being v problematic. Remember when she hated on the Shakespeare in the Park ITW a few years ago on twitter and got like blacklisted?
Connecting the word “bloodbath” to two recent mass shootings we had is nowhere near a stretch, especially after TKAM was stopped the other night due to a thought of a gun shot. Quit your ignorance people. We average a shooting in this country everyday and using “broadway bloodbath” is simply distasteful. If you can’t see, I have no words for your ignorance to this issue. Wait till it effects you is all I have to say.
No, when I saw the topic, the first thing I thought of is the fact that a lot of shows seem to be closing, not the shootings. I won’t be called ignorant for not connecting dots that aren’t actually there.

To clarify the party was called the Broadway Bloodbath Bash. Planning for it started about a month ago by one of the PW ensemble members when all of the shows got their notice so close together, before the recent tragedy and motorcycle incident. The name probably should have been changed but at that point the marketing and flyers had already been making the rounds at the backstages.
I understand that the intent was harmless and under different circumstances the dark joke could work. But at this moment in American life, it sounds at best tone deaf in context and at worst actually alarming out of context.
Not sure why everyone is coming for the OP when it was the Broadway actors who decided to name their party this? If you have an issue, go on Charlie Williams’ precious instagram feed and voice your opinions there.
