2019 Broadway Flea |
I went to both last year, and both were phenomenal experiences, but BroadwayCon is definitely my pick. They have the vendors there, and then they have amazing panels and competitions and performances. I've been really lucky with the autographs/photographs each year I've gone, and I never felt like I missed out on seeing anyone since you can literally still see the actors in person even if you're not directly talking to them. I totally understand the high prices at the flea for autographs/photos (since it is a donation), but if you're looking to get more than one or two autographs, it is a bit expensive (I think it was a $20 donation). I'd go flea if you were looking to find some specific memorabilia and great prices(I really wanted a GHD poster and a SITPWG poster and I was able to get both for $15). I'd go Con if you're looking to get a full experience/inside look on Broadway.
It's up to you though. I did feel like both were completely different experiences, and I loved them in their own way!
The list of artists scheduled to participate in photos and autographs is out! (pasting below for convenience)
Can someone explain to me what this means please? This will be my 1st BF. Thanks!

It means just what it says, autographs are $35 each hour, for all performers at the autograph table that hour. This list of actors will eventually be broken down in an hourly schedule, 11am, 12noon, etc. (scroll down and see the 2017 schedule as an example), so if you want to do the autograph table at 11am and also at 1pm you have to pay $35 each time.
The table has never been my thing, I've never done it, so I will let someone else speak to: if you wanted to do say 11am and then also 12noon, since the 12noon line starts forming during the 11am signings, how does that work.
oooh thank you so much!! so $35 and you can get multiple autographs that hour? i was interpreting it as maybe u had to pay $35 x each member of a cast singing autographs at that time (so like if i wanted erika henningsen i'd have to pay $245. which doesn't really make sense and why i was confused thanks!!!!!!)
fyi it looks like the timed schedule is already up on BroadwayCares site.

so for Erika Henningsen you want the 12noon - 12:50 hour, and you can get autographs from her and everyone else who is listed in that 12noon - 12:50 slot for your $35 donation.
To make it more affordable, perhaps think of applying to volunteer at bway con. If you work your entire shift, they give you a complimentary day pass.
