I am in DC for the week and was wondering if I should go see Aladdin. Does anyone know how the current cast is? Is it worth going to see? (Also I have never seen Aladdin on broadway!)

It depends on your taste. I found Aladdin to be nothing by flash and trash when I saw it on Broadway. It's harmless Disney fun, but not much else.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would when I saw it. If it interests you, I say go! Just don’t expect the best thing ever, keep your expectations reasonable.

I totally enjoyed the tour when it came through Pittsburgh last September. The gorgeous costumes, beautiful yet simple set design, and fun music were all a delight to watch and listen to. And the flying carpet ride was fairly cool. It’s definitely not complicated theatre, just a good time at the show. Enjoy!

...and I thought Clinton Greenspan did a wonderful job as Aladdin...

With all the amazing, unique theatre in DC, why would you go to a road show you could see anywhere?

I saw the Kennedy Center Aladdin. It was fine, not great. If I were you, I’d go instead to the Band’s Visit tour, Tiger Style at Olney Theatre, Ann at Arena Stage, Treasure Island at Synetic Theatre, or Ann at Arena Stage.
